Wrapping Up the MH_UKR Project

A Journey of Support to Ukrainian Refugees

As we reach the conclusion of the MH_UKR project, we reflect on an inspiring project funded by the European Philanthropic Initiative for Migration, aimed at increasing mental health literacy among professionals and organizing activities for social inclusion to support Ukrainian refugees.

Coordinated by Mental Health Europe alongside incredible partners—the Human Foundation (Poland), Mental Health Perspektives (Lithuania), The Romanian League for Mental Health (Romania), and the Artemisszió Intercultural Foundation (Hungary)—this project united efforts to not only assist refugees at the local level but also to challenge harmful narratives and tackle the stigma often perpetuated in the media’s portrayal of their stories.

If you’d like to learn more about the advocacy work we’ve undertaken to promote a more equitable, human-rights-based representation of refugees in the media, check out our Media Guidelines video and end of project video on Mental Health Europe’s YouTube Channel.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our consortium partners, the funder, and all our allies who made this journey possible. Together, we have amplified voices, fostered inclusion, and paved the way for more unbiased narratives.
