Towards a comprehensive long-term action plan on mental health
For Mental Health Europe, the Communication on a comprehensive approach to mental health is a good first step in the right direction. However, the journey ahead is long, and this is a journey we must undertake together, as mental health concerns us all.
To be part of this transformative journey, we encourage you to join the Mental Health in All Policies Stakeholders Network, hosted on DG SANTE Health Policy Platform. You can request access here.
The Network can be intended as a tool to coordinate stakeholders’ engagement in the implementation phase of the Communication on a comprehensive approach to mental health, but also as a platform for progressing towards long-term action on mental health.
The Network is open to all interested stakeholders, regardless of their affiliation with the health sector, provided they meet the following criteria:
- Agree with a broader understanding of mental health: This approach focuses on socio-economic and environmental determinants, recognising that mental health is influenced by a wide range of factors.
- Believe in a human rights approach to mental health: A commitment to addressing mental health from a human rights perspective.
- Do not represent industrial interests: Members should be committed to advancing person-centred policies and actions (rather than serving industrial interests).
Please note that members of the original Mental Health in all Policies Thematic Network – now closed and transformed into the current network – are not automatically members of the Stakeholders Network. Members should reapply and access must be requested again.
To plan the next steps and meet the expectations of the Stakeholders Network members, a consultation will be conducted to gather feedback. Specifically, we are interested in your opinions on the Communication on a comprehensive approach to mental health, how you can contribute your expertise in its implementation, what you believe is still missing, and what you hope to achieve by participating in the Stakeholders Network.
After requesting to join the Mental Health in all Policies Thematic Network, we kindly request you fill out this form by 24 November.
Your support is instrumental in ensuring that everyone in Europe can thrive!
