MENTALITY – The consortium gathers in Brussels for a strong start of the second year of project
The consortium of the project MENTALITY – Mental Health Quality Practices met in Brussels on the 23rd and 24th of January for a two-day face-to-face meeting to review the outcomes of the first year and to strategise the work for the second and last year of the project.
The practice owners Ea Suzanne Akasha (Guide for Teachers as part of the A Hopeful, Healthy and Happy Living and Learning Toolkit), Magda Biernat (Map of services providers), Noud van Hecke and René van het Erve (the programme “Team Reflection” for healthcare workers) joined the implementing partners on site as well for the two-day meeting. All the sessions were characterised by positive and prolific exchanges with a strong sense of shared commitment as regards the transfer of each of the mental health quality practices into national contexts and their up-scalability.
Each of the national partners (ESTUAR Foundation, Slovak League for Mental Health, Prolepsis Institute, Riga City Council, Polish Migration Forum) showcased the status of implementation on their site, as well as challenges and successes of the first 12 months of work. The round of presentations highlighted that all promising practices are being successfully implemented according to the steps defined by the Grant Agreement and that the organisations have been engaging with national stakeholders to support not only the implementation but also the sustainability of the mental health quality practice.
The meeting was characterised by a strong collaborative approach where all participants from diverse backgrounds, roles and expertise contributed with valuable insights to the conversation. This welcoming and supportive environment allowed the consortium organisations to keep shaping the project’s trajectory together under the crucial support of the Coordinator Mental Health Europe and project partner EuroHealthNet.
As MENTALITY enters its second year, the focus is on providing robust coverage at both national and European levels, acknowledging the hard and visionary work of the project partners. The MENTALITY project continues to pave the way for innovative and effective mental health quality practices, with the recent Brussels meeting marking a pivotal moment in its journey towards a brighter future for mental health for all.
